Fungal Nail Infections, or onychomycosis, are the same infection as Athletes Foot.  In fungal nails the infection has become established beneath the nail plate.

The location of the fungal infection under the nail plate is what makes it much harder to treat than Athletes Foot, as most topical treatments cannot penetrate to the nail bed.

The ClearaNail system works by drilling 0.4mm diameter holes in the infected nail plate.  These micro holes allow topical antifungals, such as Terbinifine spray, to reach the site of the infection.

ClearaNail’s intellegent drill senses when it is reaching the nail bed and stops, reducing any discomfort and damage to the nail bed.  ClearaNail is the only system to give access to the Germinal Nail Matrix - which is where advanced infections reside.

How long until I see results?

Results have been reported as early as two weeks after the ClearaNail session.  Most people will see a difference within one month.  Your podiatrist will take photos prior to treatment, at the end of the session and when they review you again to keep track of your progress.

Will drilling the nail hurt?

No.  There will be some pressure felt on the nail, but no pain, bleeding or bruising.  The drill is cleverly designed to sense a change in pressure and automatically shut down before it reaches the nail bed

How many sessions will I need?

Just one ClearaNail session is needed to get the nail ready for your  home-based treatment with anti-fungal spray.

​Is ClearaNail safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, for older adults, for children, for diabetics, or for people with a pacemaker?

​The ClearaNail machine has no contra-indications for use. This means the ClearaNail session is totally safe for anyone.
